Virtins Sound Card Signal Generator Description:

Virtins Sound Card Signal Generator is a powerful PC based virtual instrument. It consists of a sound card based Signal Generator and an off-line Oscilloscope. 1. The dual channel Signal Generator (Sweep/Arbitrary/Function Generator) provides the following types of waveform for output: (1) Sine (2) Square (3) Triangle (4) Saw Tooth (5) White Noise (6) Pink Noise (7) Multi-tones (8) Arbitrary via user-configurable waveform library at either a fixed frequency, or a frequency that sweeps linearly or logarithmically within specified frequency range and time duration. 2. The dual-channel off-line Oscilloscope provides four types of views: (1)Wave form display of Channel A and Channel B (2)Wave form display of Channel A + Channel B (3)Wave form display of Channel A - Channel B (4)Lissajous Pattern display for Channel A and Channel B The off-line Oscilloscope can be used to view the signal generated by the Signal Generator. It can also be used to view the WAV files recorded by other sound recording software.

Selectable sampling frequency (up to 192 kHz), sampling bit resolution (8, 16 or 24 bits) and sampling channels (one or two) (all depending on Sound Card)

Support predefined waveforms: Sine, Square, Triangle and Saw Tooth. They can be generated at a specified fixed frequency ranging from 1 Hz to up to 96 kHz

Support non-repetitious pink noise and white noise generation

Support multi-tones generation. Multi-tones is a combination of the predefined waveforms with different amplitude and frequency. Pink noise and white noise with specified amplitude can also be added into multi-tones. Maximum 32 tones can be combined in each channel

Support arbitrary waveform generation through user defined waveform library. The waveform library is a TXT file containing the coordinates of each point of the waveform. There is no limit as to how many points can be used to define a waveform

The predefined waveform, multi-tones and user-defined waveform can be generated at a frequency that sweeps linearly or logarithmically within specified frequency range and time duration

Allow to specify the phase difference between the two channels if the output signals have the same frequency

The output signal amplitude is adjustable

The generated signal can be saved as WAV file or TXT file for a specified duration ranging from 1 s to 1000 s

Support calibration of the output channels

The output signal can be displayed in the Oscilloscope and Spectrum Analyzer at real time via software loop back.

Support Multilingual User Interface under Windows 2000, XP, 2003 and above. Currently supported languages are English, French, German, Italian, Portuguese, Spanish, Simplified Chinese, Traditional Chinese, Japanese and Korean. Support only the local language and English under Window 95, 98, Me and Windows NT
